MEET THE TEAM: Sam Houlihan

Tell us a bit about yourself. What is your name, work experience and background and position at Pryme?

My name is Sam Houlihan, I’m a Director at Pryme and I oversee the company operations.

I remember trying a Sqwincher Lemon Lime Fast Pack in 1998. Terry asked us if we liked the taste. To which I probably replied with a confident ‘yep!’. I like to consider myself part of the initial market research of Sqwincher in Australia.

What do you like about working at Pryme?

The People.

We have an extensive network of distributors, suppliers and partners with relationships built around trust, respect and delivering excellence.

Last (but not least), Pryme People. We create an environment for individuals to prosper and create change. This results in improving our business in my aspects, but also offers an opportunity for individuals to contribute and grow.

Favourite part of the job?

Opportunity and variety in tasks and projects every day, month and year.

What is some wisdom that you live by?

The harder I work, the luckier I get.

What is the one thing that sites need to adopt to make sure that their workers are safe?

Training. Ensuring workers are aware and understand the risk of their environment.

What is your favourite Ergodyne product and why?

The Ergodyne Chill-Its 6487 Cooling Multi Band. I use it when doing yard work around the house and it can be worn multiple ways and offers cooling and sun protection.

There are multiple ways to drink Sqwincher, what is your favourite?

I don’t do it all the time, but I would say Orange Sqwincher Qwik Stik and soda water. I’m not much of a Soda guy, but this combo tastes very similar to other popular orange Soda drinks out there.

What is the one product that you use the most to stay safe?

Sqwincher Qwik Stiks for sure. Portable, sugar-free and low-calorie. Helps a lot when flying, in the yard or office to stay hydrated.

What message do you have for people working on a site that they need to hear?

Remain vigilant on safety.

Whilst the worker fatality rate is decreasing, no one should go to work and be at risk of not making it home. Whether it’s policy, procedures, or products, whatever can be done to ensure workers can go home to their families is important.
