Pryme started from humble beginnings, before opening originally as Sqwincher Australia in 1999, it was just an idea conceived by entrepreneur Terry Houlihan, who heard from industry connections that the US-Owned company was looking to expand into the global market. Terry met with the Howard family who started Sqwincher in 1998, where his foresight saw an opportunity for Sqwincher to be extremely successful in the Australian market, due to the high heat and humidity and the importance of hydration in such a climate.
The family packed up and moved to Australia and Terry, with a small amount of capital for stock orders, became the sole team member of Sqwincher Australia. From a home office he was the sole salesman, marketer, admin, finance – everything.
Eventually as the business grew he brought his own warehouse and brought on office, support staff and other salespeople. His children Sophie, Brad and Sam would help out on school holidays in whatever way they can, sowing the seeds for the future of the business.
In May 2006, other brands are brought into the company to be distributed and the Pryme business was created and has evolved to what we are today, with Ergodyne and MaxiBlock as products we are proud to be partnered with. In 2021, after years of dedication and service which laid the foundation of what Pryme has become today, Terry retired and enlisted Brad Houlihan (Director – Sales) and Sam Houlihan (Director – Operations), to continue his legacy in helping the Australian worker. 
25 years after those humble beginnings, Pryme is still an industry leader in providing Safety and Protection solutions. With innovative products and an authentic passion for protecting hardworking people, we have continued to grow and innovate, while still maintaining our values as a family business.
